Programs Offered at the Mildred Elley NYC Campus

Mildred Elley educates NYC students through Associate in Occupational (A.O.S.) degree programs, and credit-bearing undergraduate Certificate programs. Certificate credits may generally be applied to the A.O.S. degree. Each program at the Mildred Elley New York City campus is designed so that students learn important skills and acquire knowledge that may be important for employment success.

Our A.O.S. Degree programs include:

• Medical Assistant Associate in Occupational Studies: By learning administrative and clinical skills in the Medical Assistant New York A.O.S. degree program, our curriculum prepares students for a potential career in healthcare, working alongside doctors and nurses in this 20-month program.
• Massage Therapy Associate in Occupational Studies: The Massage Therapy A.O.S. degree program is designed to teach you techniques that focus on natural healing methods to help patients with chronic pain or stress. You will have the opportunity to train with seasoned professors to sharpen your skills through hands-on experience in massage sessions.

Our Certificate programs include:

• • Practical Nursing (LPN) Certificate: The LPN New York classes in the Practical Nurse Certificate program help students acquire the educational foundation in preparation for the NCLEX-PN examination. Successfully completing your LPN classes and passing the NCLEX-PN examination could allow you to work under the direction of registered nurses and doctors, providing basic medical care to patients.
  • Clinical Medical Assistant Certificate: The Clinical Medical Assistant Certificate program trains students in a variety of clinical skills that could include patient care, phlebotomy, EKGs, and electronic medical records knowledge in as little as 14-months.

Mildred Elley’s NYC Campus understands the expansive healthcare industry that supports the city’s community and economy. The courses in NYC are designed to help students gain real-world knowledge in whichever field they choose to study.

The New York City campus is conveniently located near bus, subway and ferry lines. You can take the 4 or 5 train to Bowling Green and/or the R or 1 to Rector Street. We are across from the “Wall Street Bull.”

Brooklyn, NY – NEW Extension Site Location*

Beginning in January, 2025, Brooklyn students can spend less time commuting by beginning evening courses toward a Practical Nurse Certificate or a Medical Assistant Associate’s Degree right in Brooklyn, before finishing at our downtown Manhattan campus.

Located at 1783 65th Street in Brooklyn, Mildred Elley has opened an extension site in the offices of Greater New York Nursing. Just a short walk from the 18th Ave N-Stop, and Bus lines B8 and B9, getting to classes couldn’t be easier for students in the Brooklyn area.

Programs offered in Brooklyn:

• Practical Nurse Certificate: Earn your certificate in Nursing in as little as 16 months, with student support services to assist you with preparing for licensing in NY State.
• Medical Assistant AOS Degree: Earn your Associate’s Degree in this 20-month program. Graduates have the opportunity to take national certifying exams through the National Healthcare Association (NHA) including EKG Certification (CET), Phlebotomy Certification (CPT), and National Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CCMA).

High School Diploma or Equivalency required. Financial Aid is available for those who qualify.

*Mildred Elley operates an extension site conveniently located in Brooklyn, NY. Students cannot complete an entire degree at an extension site and must take a number of courses at the downtown Manhattan campus. Administrative and academic services, such as academic advisement, financial aid, tutoring, library, and career services resources, are available remotely to students from the downtown Manhattan campus.
